Terragrunt

$ BudgetFree · Last reviewed May 2026

Terragrunt is an orchestration tool from Gruntwork that adds DRY configuration, remote-state management, and dependency handling on top of OpenTofu and Terraform at scale. It targets teams managing large infrastructure-as-code codebases and is positioned as an orchestrator for both OpenTofu and Terraform. It is free and open-source under the MIT license and is self-hostable. It uses a declarative approach with the HCL language and inherits multi-cloud provider support from the underlying tools. As an open-source utility it carries no vendor compliance certifications.
