MotherDuck is a serverless cloud data warehouse built on DuckDB, pairing cloud storage and compute with DuckDB's fast local execution in a hybrid query model. It targets the large class of analytics workloads that never needed a distributed cluster: single-node-scale data explored interactively from notebooks, dbt, or BI tools. A free tier covers small workloads, with usage-based plans beyond it. DuckDB itself is open source; MotherDuck is the proprietary managed service built around it by a team including DuckDB Labs collaborators.
