Dokku

$ BudgetFree · Last reviewed July 2026

Dokku is an open-source, single-server platform-as-a-service: a git push deploys applications to your own Linux box using Heroku buildpacks or Dockerfiles, with plugins for databases, TLS, and domains. It is the minimalist elder of the self-hosted PaaS family that CapRover and Coolify later joined, administered primarily from the command line rather than a web panel. The software is entirely free, with a paid Pro offering adding a web UI and support. It suits developers comfortable on a shell who want Heroku workflows on a five-dollar VPS.
